ਤੇਤੇ ਗਲੀ ਜੰਜੀਰ।।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਦੁਨੀਅਾ ਦੇ ਸੁੱਖ ਮਾਣਨ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ) ਜਿੰਨੇ ਵੀ ਪਾਪ-ਵਿਕਾਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ੲਿਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਗਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਾਹੀਅਾਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

O Nanak, as many as are the sins one commits to gain pleasures from this world, so many are the chains around his neck.

ਮਨ ਤੂੰ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਹੈ 

ਅਾਪਣਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ।।

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ੳੁਸ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਨਿਰਾ ਨੂਰ ਹੀ ਨੂਰ ਹੈ, (ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਅਾਪਣੇ ੳੁਸ ਅਸਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾ।

O my mind, you are the embodiment of divine light - recognize your own origin.

ਗੁਰਾ ੲਿਕ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੁਝਾੲੀ।।

ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਅਾ ਕਾ ੲਿਕੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਮੈ ਵਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਜਾੲੀ।।

(ਮੇਰੀ ਤਾਂ) ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ੲਿਕ ੲਿਹ ਸਮਝ ਦੇਹ, ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ੲਿਕ ਰੱਬ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ੳੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਨਾ ਦਿਅਾਂ।

O my Guru, give me this one understanding; that there is only the One, the Giver of all souls. And may I never forget him.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੈਰ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਗਵਾਵੈ।।

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਗਣਤ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ।।

(ਗੁਰਮੁਖ) ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੈ, ੳੁਹ ਦੂਜਿਅਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ-ਵਿਰੋਧ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ੲਿਸ ਵੈਰ-ਵਿਰੋਧ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਹੀ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਕਦੇ ੲਿਹ ਸੋਚ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਾੳੁਣ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ੳੁਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਧੀਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ।

The Gurumukh (one who is devoted to the Guru) eliminates hate & envy for others. He erases all accounting with others.

ਮੇਰਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਛੋਡੀਅੈ ਭਾੲੀ 

ਹੋੲੀਅੈ ਸਭ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ।।

ਹੇ ਭਾੲੀ! ਵਿਤਕਰਾ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
