ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਹੋੲਿ

ਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਕਰਿ।।

ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਅਾਣਪ ਸਗਲ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਧਰਿ।।

ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਦੁੱਖ ਹੋਵੇ ੳੁਹ ਅਾਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਅਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ, ਅਾਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਚਤੁਰਾੲੀ ਤਿਅਾਗ (ਛੱਡ) ਦੇ ਅਾਪਣੀ ਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਅਾਤਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਨ ਕਰ ਦੇ।

When your soul is feeling sad, offer your prayers to the Guru. Renounce all your cleverness and dedicate your mind and body to him.

ਜੇਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਹਿ

ਤੇਹੀ ਕੋ ਪਾਵੈ ।।

ਤੂੰ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ,

ੳੁਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਗਰਿਹਣ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

We receive the intelligence as bestowed by you, O God.

ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਪ੍ਭੁ ੲੇਕੁ ਹੈ 

ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋੲਿ।।

ਕੇਵਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ, ਇਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

God alone is the doer of deeds, there is no other at all.

ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮਰਣੁ ਕਬੂਲਿ ਜੀਵਣ ਕੀ ਛਡਿ ਅਾਸ।।

ਹੋਹੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ ਤੳੁ ਅਾੳੁ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਪਾਸਿ।।

ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਉਮੀਦ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਓ, ਸਭ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਣੋ, ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।

First, accept death and give up any hope of life, become the dust of feel of all, and then, you may come to me.

ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੳੁਨੁ ਸਹਾੲੀ ਮਨ ਕਾ।।

ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋੲੀ ਹੋਰ ੲਿਸ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸਹਾੲਿਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।

There can be no one to help this mind except God.
