ਫਰੀਦਾ ਹੳੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ੍ ਪੰਖੀਅਾ ਜੰਗਲਿ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵਾਸੁ।।

ਕਕਰੁ ਚੁਗਨਿ ਥਲਿ ਵਸਨਿ ਰਬ ਨ ਛੋਡਨਿ ਪਾਸੁ।।

ਹੇ ਫਰੀਦ! ਮੈਂ ੳੁਹਨਾਂ ਪੰਛੀਅਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਸਾ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਤਿਨਕੇ ਚੁਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰ) ਰਬ ਦਾ ਅਾਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦੇ (ਭਾਵ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਰਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤਾਂ ੳੁਹ ਪੰਛੀ ਚੰਗੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਰਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ)।

O Farid! I am a sacrifice to the birds that live in the forest, bite the straw, live on the earth, (but) do not leave the support of God (meaning those birds are better than the one who forgets God even while living in houses, Who somehow make a living, but remember God).

ੲੇਕੁ ਧਿਅਾਵਹੁ ਮੂੜ੍ ਮਨਾ।।

ਪਾਰਿ ੳੁਤਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ੲਿਕ ਖਿਨਾਂ।।

ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ੲਿੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ। (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ) ੲਿਕ ਪਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾੲੇਂਗਾ।

Meditate on the one Lord, O my foolish mind and you shall cross over to the other side in an instant.

ਅੰਧੀ ਕੋਠੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਹੀ।।

ਹੇ ਪ੍ਭੂ ! ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਕੋਠੀ ਇਕ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਕੋਠੜੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

Without the name of the Lord, the chamber of soul remains dark.

ਸਾਝ ਕਰੀਜੈ ਗੁਣਹ ਕੇਰੀ 

ਛੋਡਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਚਲੀਅੈ।।

ਅਾਓ! ਅਾਪਾਂ ੲਿੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ-ਨਾਲ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾੲੀੲੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਵਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਅਾਗ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੁਰੀੲੇ।

Let us form a partnership & share our virtues: let us abandon our faults & walk on the path.

ਜੈਸੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੈਸਾ ਪਰਗਾਸ ।।

ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਜ਼ਹੂਰ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

As the intellect one gets, so is one enlightened.
